Coffee Maker Buying Guide

The Ultimate Guide to Coffee Brewing Machines

Coffee is complex. There are numerous factors that go into the quality of a cup of joe. The coffee beans play a big role, but you also need to look at the commercial appliance service you are using. There are several different commercial coffee makers available, and you should look into the qualities of all of them to see which is best for brewing coffee.

Pour Over Coffee

This device requires a carafe, filter and the power of gravity. You place the beans in the filter and pour hot water over them. This filters out the coffee to produce a unique flavor. The flavor can actually vary depending on how exactly the barista poured the water. It is labor intensive, so you should be sure your customers are asking for this specific style of coffee before making the investment. It also requires additional training for employees.

French Press

For people who want a strong cup of coffee, French press brewing is the way to go. A mesh filter separates the boiling water and the coffee grounds. You push a lever to produce the coffee while leaving the grounds behind. A French press is great for baristas who want to control the exact temperature of the water because certain temperatures will work better for specific beans. It does take some specialized training to become proficient at the French press technique, but it is a handy skill.

Drip Coffee Makers

Many restaurants and cafes have a drip coffee maker as their go to coffee brewer. They are easy to use. It requires the barista to put the beans within a filter while boiling water drips from overhead. This water pushes through the coffee grounds and ultimately the filter to provide you with a cup of coffee. These makers are often seen in casual restaurants and diners that do not necessarily need a prestigious cup of coffee to serve customers.

Espresso Machine

An espresso machine cannot replace a standard coffee maker, but it is good for cafes and restaurants that want something special to offer customers. It typically only takes about 30 seconds to brew a cup of espresso, so you can definitely add a number of tasty espresso drinks to your menu when you have one.

When your commercial coffee maker breaks down, contact Commercial Appliance Service Company to come out and fix it. Send us a message through our online form, and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
